Subject: For the news letter Bonsai 101

Bonsai 101 is off and running, Considering the weather out side was not the best to put any one in the bonsai mood, we had a large turn out of new members. I also notice older members sitting in on the sessions. If the more experience members are going to attend these sessions inter mix with newer member and make them feel welcome and and more conformable about asking a question. I personally hope everyone gain a little knowledge about the the history of bonsai from the first session a introduction to bonsai. If nothing else we now know the different meaning between Banzai and Bonsai.

The next session of Bonsai 101 is on basis bonsai design given by Ivan Watters. After attending this session will you be able to design the perfect bonsai, More than likely no, but when you leave the meeting you will know the difference between a formal upright and a informal upright. when you hear members taking about their number 1,2 and 3 branches you will it will make sense to you. this is a session you do not want to miss.

When I first started doing bonsai one of the best lessons I was taught was the difference in our time and bonsai time. By the next meeting how many of the newer members know the difference.

Subject: Study group for the news letter

In line with the Warren Hill study group. I have been in contact with Warren and he informed me that he would do a group type study group workshop. It would be limited to 10 participant. Participants can bring two tree with them. The cost would be broken down by the number of members attending. we are running out of time. If we are going to do this we need to know how many of are members are interested in doing something like this. They can contact me by e-mail thomashms@earthling.net we will also bring this up at the next general meeting.
