A newer tradition for the Midwest Bonsai Society is their Spring Show. Started in 2004, it skipped a year in 2006 due to construction at the Chicago Botanic Garden. This year marks its 4th anniversary, and it looks to be a good show. It is a smaller show than our annual August show, but still worth the trip to view the display of member trees, the courtyard of vendors, and the workshops and demonstrations.

The Spring Show is held in the Burnstein Hall of the newly remodeled Regenstein Center at the Chicago Botanic Garden, and its timing corresponds with the Garden's collection coming out of winter storage in the spring. Featured this spring are tropcial and flowering trees, though there will be other, traditional bonsai species represented as well as suiseki.
